TwoGuys Brewing, 2356 Porter St SW, Wyoming ~ 2/26/19 ~ #50 of our Brewery Tour (See All ThingsGR.blogspot.com/Our Year(s) of Touring West Michigan Breweries for #1-49)
Established in 2017, this brewery, #50 of our tour, was one of our favorites. Located in an old 7-11 building, TwoGuys brews their beer across the street in a converted firehouse.
The room is a nice size with about a dozen tables, a bar topped by a corrugated, metal ceiling and a church pew running along the length of the bar.
Although beer is their main focus, they offer housemade wines and cocktails based on hard seltzer. There is no hard liquor available. But there is beer. Three of us chose our flights with care.
Being so long ago that we were here, my recollection of what were our favorites does not exist but my notes indicate we tasted BC Blonde, Pumper Truck, TrenchWarfare, Station 3, Wolfpack Wheat, and Harvest. The 4th one in our party had a glass of dry, white wine, with no whining.
We started with a beer cheese plate to share ~ fresh chips & pretzel pieces. It was the perfect accompaniment to our beer (and wine).
For our main dishes, two of us chose the special of the night, a sour cream chicken enchilada. The large plate also contained rice and beans and was deserving of being the night's special.
Two tofu tacos were superb, with cucumber sesame ginger sauce.
A large portion of chicken tenders was our fourth dish and in case you want anything spicier, you have options.
Then we had to try one of the cocktails and went for the Reindeer Kiss - a gingery red Greyhound, sort of.
Our server, Kaileigh, was amazing ~ helpful, funny, and most efficient. When we commented on how quiet it was, she let us know that was intentional. A soundtrack was playing but it was background, not dominating noise. The place has one TV and that is on only for big games. The owners want this to be a place for community to gather and talk so this is no sports bar and we enjoyed it immensely.
There is no wifi but there is a variety of pickled eggs from which to chose.
The beer is good as is the food. The ambiance is wonderful. The cocktails and wine are different than you might be used to but this is a wonderful place to spend a few hours (and you get real plates and silverware, fyi).
